In the Lab 2.5, adding NY child domain to ACME forest step.
if you are receiving errors finding ACME forest or Authentication (bad username or password)
Here are steps found to resolve these issues:
Adding ACME to Windows Host file of the MBR server
Use a text editor to open C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS.
Add a line that identifies the server's IP address and name, in this format:
<IP address> <host name>
where <IP address> is the IP address of the DC server
where <host name> is acme.com
Save and close the file. (Do not accidentally add a file name extension, such as .txt)
Make sure time on both DC and MBR server OS times are in sync
If the times on both virtual machines are off, try enabling Network Time Protocol (NTP) on the MBR server
A good web page on setting NTP on Windows 2012
On the host, we have found that setting the network adapter on the virtual machines to Bridged mode can help
Make sure that you are using the Parent/DC/Forest credentials to add the child
