Go get the client:
I find this link normally does not have the bundled offers nor asks you to get the Pro version.
Download for your OS that you are using; i.e. Windows 64 bit
After the file has downloaded, run and install it. I find that that the defaults are good for the install. Assuming that there are no bundled offers to remove or not install.
Once you are installed and opened/ran, we can get to adding a server.
File→Site Manager
Under ‘Select Entry’ on the left hand side, there is a ‘New Site’ button
Click ‘New Site’
Name the site in the ‘Select Entry’, lets make this one ‘citstudent’
On the right hand side in the General Tab, there will be a Host section
enter ‘citstudent.lanecc.edu’ (without quotes)
In the ‘Port’ section
enter ‘22’ (without quotes)
For the ‘Logon Type’, choose, ‘Normal’
The ‘User’ will be your last name and the first initial of your first name with the last 3 of your L number.
The ‘Password’ is your password that the instructor gave you.
